The Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City is seeking a highly qualified physician to join our tenure-track or non-tenure clinical track. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and includes teaching responsibilities.

The role features on-site MFM clinics, telemedicine, and call duties. Applicants must have an MD or DO, completed an ACGME-accredited OBGYN residency, and an accredited MFM fellowship.

Qualifications

• Requisite skills in obstetrical ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, and genetics.
• MD/DO with completed ACGME OBGYN residency and MFM fellowship.
• Candidates must be ABOG active candidates or board-certified or subspecialty-certified in MFM.

Responsibilities

• Participate in clinical activities of the division, including outpatient MFM clinics and telemedicine.
• Teach maternal-fetal medicine fellows, obstetrics residents, and medical students.
• Share in call coverage for labor and delivery and MFM back-up from home.

Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine

The Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology atUniversity of Iowa Health Care, Iowa City, Iowa, is seeking a highly qualified person to join our tenure track or non-tenure clinical track.Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

The Division provides care for pregnant women across the spectrum of maternal and fetal complications. Applicants will be expected to participate in the clinical activities of the division and have requisite skills in obstetrical ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, and genetics. Participation is required in our outpatient clinics, including on-site MFM clinics and telemedicine, and in our off-site outreach clinics. Call responsibilities include in-house call on labor and delivery and MFM back-up call from home. Applicants are required to have excellent skills in patient management, strong oral and written communication, and interdisciplinary team care.The applicant will also be required to teach maternal-fetal medicine fellows, obstetrics and gynecology residents, and medical students.Scholarly activity is encouraged and supported, but research is not required on the clinical track. Applicants are required to have a M.D. or D.O. degree (or foreign graduate equivalent), completed an ACGME-accredited residency in OBGYN and an accredited fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. They must be American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology active candidates, or board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology active candidates, or subspecialty board certified in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

The UI Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has distinguished clinical, research, and teaching faculty who are national and international leaders in their respective areas of expertise. The department encompasses a broad range of programs spanning all areas of the specialty. There are five genetic counselors. The department is the home of an excellent residency program with 6 residents per year and highly competitive fellowship programs in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Gyn Oncology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and Urogynecology. The department has active research programs in preeclampsia, gynecologic cancers, pelvic floor disorders, and infertility. Partnering with the State of Iowa, the Department has expanded residency and fellowship training to rural Iowa in partnership with several Iowa health systems and clinics. Additionally, the department’s residency program has many years of recruiting and graduating outstanding women’s health talent.

In addition, the department closely collaborates with the UI Departments of Urology, Psychiatry, Family Medicine, the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center (Iowa’s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center), Neonatology other subspecialties in the Stead Family Department of Pediatrics as well as the University of Iowa’s Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
