Job summary

Main Line Health's Lankenau Medical Center seeks a Maternal Care Technician to support new mothers and newborns during the critical first hours. You will assist with personal care, vital signs, venipuncture, ambulation, and transporting patients on a busy 28-unit unit, while coordinating with the Primary Nurse.

This role offers tuition reimbursement up to $6,000 annually, opportunities to join hospital committees, and a strong team environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous Nursing Assistant experience required.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills.
  • Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care, vital signs, venipuncture, and ambulation & transporting patients.
  • Support newborn care under supervision of the Primary Nurse.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating unit activities when appropriate.
  • Perform clerical and receptionist duties and maintain the unit environment.

As a Maternal Care Technician working on a busy 28 unit, you will perform specific nursing-related duties in providing for the personal care, vital signs, venipuncture, and ambulating & transporting patients. You will also perform and support new mothers in newborn care as directed by the Primary Nurse. When the new mothers and babies are resting or visiting with family, the Maternal Care Technical assists in planning, organizing, and implementing activities occurring on the nursing unit by performing clerical, receptionist duties while maintaining the physical environment of the area.
