Job summary

Alaska Testlab is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform asphalt, concrete, soil, rock, and aggregate testing in accordance with established standards and ATL policies. The role includes coordinating incoming samples, training junior staff, entering results, and assisting with equipment maintenance.

Work is seasonal, part-time in winter and full-time from April through October, with interaction with clients to collect information and ensure workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years laboratory testing experience is required.
• In lieu of two years of testing experience, a minimum two year degree in engineering is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all incoming samples and establish workflow.
• Perform testing on construction materials (asphalt, concrete, soil, rock, aggregates).
• Train less experienced technicians and supervise test methods.
• Enter test results and maintain equipment calibrations.
• Interact with clients to collect sample information and provide results.
• Assist with data back-checking and sample disposal.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and support other duties.
