Job summary

Terracon’s Lynnwood, WA office is seeking a motivated Project Manager for Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspections. The role transitions from hands-on materials testing to project leadership, coordinating field and lab resources to deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, environmental science, geology, or related field; 2+ years of relevant experience, or 6+ years without a degree.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and state testing/inspection standards.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and contract management skills.
• Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets for materials testing and special inspection contracts.
• Lead and supervise field crews, subcontractors, and technical staff to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, and regulatory agencies to define project requirements and obtain permits.
• Monitor compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, and local standards throughout testing and inspection activities.
• Prepare and review technical reports, test results, and inspection documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain project documentation, change orders, and cost tracking in Terracon’s project management system.
• Conduct regular site visits and safety audits to enforce safety policies.
