This entry-level position requires the ability to work independently in at least one area, with forklift and crane operation, strong attention to detail, and a teamwork mindset within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 1-3 years inventory control and/or assembly experience helpful.
• Must have valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Pull parts per “New Sales” job pick list.
• Coordinate movement of materials with scheduler and teams to meet production needs.
• Enter receivables into inventory control, ensuring compliance with policies.
• Complete inventory cycle counts and maintain records.
• Coordinate final packing/crating and outbound shipments for equipment.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials safely and efficiently.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides direct support in four functional areas, including: Subassembly, Inventory Control, Crating and After Sales Parts fulfillment. Level 1 technicians must demonstrate the ability to work independently in at least one of these four functional areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inventory Control
  • Pull parts per “New Sales” job pick list.
  • Work with scheduler and other team leads to meet material needs of production.
  • Enter receivables into inventory control, ensuring compliance with FTA policies.
  • Complete inventory cycle counts.
  • Coordinate movement of outsourced materials.
  • Inventory sub-assembly’s (bearing installation, bearing assembly, etc.)
  • Organize physical inventory layouts, update system primary bin.
• Crating
  • Perform final assembly preparing “New Sales” equipment for shipment, including:
    • attaching feet and motor adapters
    • attaching pumps, booster and motor baseplates
    • fabricating drain lines
    • pump shaft coupling assembly
  • Perform final packaging/crating of outbound materials.
    • fabrication of wood bracing as necessary to secure the equipment during shipment
• After Sales Parts Fulfillment
  • Pull parts per “After Sales” job pick list.
  • Work with production scheduler to meet the needs of “After Sales” orders.
  • Label all parts/parts kits for easy identification by the customer.
  • Package “After Sales” parts orders, in a manner that will prevent damage during shipping process.
  • Document the contents and packaging method of each package.
• Shipping & Receiving
  • Manage inbound material flow and outbound material flow at the dock doors.
  • Receive, inspect, verify, and route incoming materials, packages, and freight to the appropriate internal location.
  • Document and photograph damages, shortages, overages, and unacceptable inbound packages, and promptly communicate discrepancies to the appropriate team members.
  • Prepare outbound shipments by verifying parts, labels, packaging requirements, shipping documents, and carrier information.
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, or other approved material-handling equipment.
  • Stage inbound and outbound materials in designated areas while maintaining clear dock access and safe traffic flow.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Inventory Control, Production, Quality, and Logistics to resolve receiving or shipping issues.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Keep dock, staging, and receiving areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements.
• Miscellaneous Duties
  • Other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES:

• Must be computer literate and able to grow with evolving technology.
• Must be willing to work as a team.
• Good mechanical aptitude is a plus.
• Must be able to safely and effectively operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (primarily Word and Excel)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• 1-3 year of inventory control and /or assembly experience helpful.
• Must have valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment and requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and use of hands and arms to handle materials, tools, and equipment.
• Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, pull, and position materials and components, with maximum unassisted lifting of 50 lbs.
• May be exposed to typical manufacturing conditions including noise, moving equipment, forklifts, overhead cranes, dust, wood materials, packaging materials, and varying shop temperatures.
• Must be able to follow established safety practices and use required personal protective equipment as directed.
