Job summary

TekniPlex is hiring a Materials Technology Development Manager for the Ridgefield, NJ facility. The role supports NA MTS Medical Compound NPI, NPD & R&D projects and provides technical leadership for continuous improvement in North America.

The position requires 5+ years in materials R&D, with expertise in formulations, conversion technologies, and manufacturing in a high-volume environment. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in materials science-related field (Chemistry/Chemical Engineering)
• Advanced degree (PhD) preferred
• Minimum of 5 years in materials industry (formulations, conversion technologies) in applied R&D
• Experience in Project Management, Stage Gate, Six Sigma, Design of Experiments
• Experience building a culture of innovation and collaboration with customers and internal teams
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Provide MTS Materials subject matter expertise
• Serve as player/coach for the global MTS Materials team
• Lead execution of new product development and R&D projects from ideation to commercialization
• Leverage material science knowledge to conduct product and manufacturing trials
• Leverage new material and manufacturing technologies to deliver solutions
• Lead/participate in stage gate meetings, technical calls and visits to customers/vendors/partners
