Job summary

BD (Becton, Dickinson, and Company) in the United States seeks a Materials Sourcing lead to drive supplier relationships, manage the buyer/planner team, and align procurement with production schedules at the Woburn site.

You will lead cost-improvement initiatives, negotiate strategic supply agreements, oversee EO/SOX compliance, and collaborate across finance, operations, and quality to meet inventory and PPV goals with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field is required.
• MBA is a plus.
• 2-5 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Purchasing, and/or Operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with current supply base to ensure on-time delivery while complying with regulations.
• Lead materials planning to support plant production and build schedules for all products.
• Manage buyers/planners and warehouse team.
• Conduct variance analysis and cycle counts with finance/operations as needed.
• Procure and ensure delivery of materials (MRO, facilities, supplies) for plant operation.
• Identify and drive supplier/procurement cost improvement projects at the plant level.
• Represent materials on the site MRB (Materials Review Board).
• Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve plant goals (PPV and inventory targets).
• Provide inventory procurement support for new products launching at Woburn facility.
• Build relationships with key suppliers and be primary contact for site-related issues.
• Lead negotiations and renew Strategic Supply Agreements as needed.
• Represent department in audits (SOX, FDA, ISO).
• Support other critical business efforts as required.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Working with current supply base to ensure on time delivery of goods/services while maintaining compliance to local, corporate, and industry regulations.
• Leading the materials planning for the site – including when to buy and how much to buy – in support of the plant production/build schedules of all products
• Manage the buyer/planner(s) and warehouse team
• Working with finance/operations to conduct variance analysis and cycle counts as needed.
• Responsible for ensuring the purchase and delivery of all materials needed for operation of the plant (MRO, facilities, supplies, etc)
• Identify, analyze, and drive major supplier/procurement related cost improvement projects at the manufacturing plant level
• Represent materials on the site MRB (Materials Review Board)
• Collaborate with cross-functionally to achieve all plant goals – including PPV and inventory targets
• Provide inventory procurement support to new products that are launching out of the Woburn facility
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to the facility, act as primary point of contact for site related issues to these suppliers
• Lead efforts to negotiate and implement/renew Strategic Supply Agreements covering this facility where needed
• Represent department in Sarbanes-Oxley, FDA, Internal, and ISO Audits
• Support other critical business efforts as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• MBA a plus
• 2-5 years' experience in Strategic Sourcing, Purchasing, and/or Operations
• Experience in Medical Device, Medical Supply, or Pharmaceutical Industry preferred
• Must possess leadership qualities as well as ability to influence stakeholders
• Experience negotiating supply agreements
• Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills
• The ability to work effectively and implement solutions on a strict timeline in a cross functional team environment
• Must demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications
• ERP/MRP system experience required (JDE preferred)
• Must be able to travel between manufacturing facilities and supplier sites when needed (<25% travel)
