Job summary

Lear Corporation is seeking a Materials Coach in Alabama to support daily material operations and drive efficient production in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will partner with production teams, leadership, and support functions to ensure material flow, inventory accuracy, and continuous improvement while fostering team development and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate daily activities within the Materials Department.
  • Guide team members on assignments, schedules and training requirements.
  • Plan work schedules and production activities to meet goals.
  • Use SAP and Cassioli scanners to support material tracking and inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory levels and support replenishment for uninterrupted production.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Engineering, Launch and Production teams on material setup and availability.
  • Review schedules and operational data to support material and production needs.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain training matrices for team members.
  • Drive inventory accuracy through adherence to controls and processes.

Job Description

As a Materials Coach, you will play a key role in supporting daily material operations and helping drive efficient production within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position partners closely with production teams, leadership, and support functions to ensure material flow, inventory accuracy, team development, and operational excellence.


The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to support self-directed work teams while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.


Responsibilities

Assist in directing and coordinating daily activities within the Materials Department. Support team members by providing guidance on daily assignments, work schedules, and training requirements. Assist in planning work schedules, assignments, and production activities to meet operational goals. Utilize SAP, Cassioli scanners, and related systems to support material tracking and inventory accuracy. Monitor inventory levels and support replenishment activities to ensure uninterrupted production. Partner with Planning, Engineering, Launch, and Production teams to ensure accurate material setup and availability. Monitor production activities and ensure adherence to established processes and standards. Review production schedules, reports, and operational data to support material and production requirements. Coordinate with leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and support continuous production flow. Maintain receiving records, logs, and documentation to support audit requirements. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance departmental efficiency and performance. Develop and maintain training matrices for team members. Drive inventory accuracy through adherence to established processes and controls. Support quality management system requirements and continuous improvement initiatives. Perform additional duties as assigned.


Experience Requirements


  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of production processes, inventory control, and material flow within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with inventory management, material planning, and logistics processes.

  • Knowledge of automotive quality standards and management systems, including IATF 16949, VDA, and ISO standards.
