Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Warehouse/Inventory Clerk to maintain medical supplies inventory for designated departments within a hospital setting. You will count par levels, replenish stock on schedule, and keep storage areas neat and organized.

You will also notify leads of low stock, ensure proper labeling of patient chargeable items, rotate stock to prevent expiration, and support over-the-counter issues, courier services, and bed transfers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience with warehouse/receiving or distribution of supplies preferred.
• Knowledge of medical/surgical supplies.

Responsibilities

• Maintains medical supplies inventory for designated departments.
• Accurately counts par levels and replenishes par levels per established schedule.
• Organizes storage areas in a neat and orderly manner.
• Notifies lead distribution technician when stock levels reach critical low levels or outage.
• Ensures that all patient chargeable items are labeled with date and charge number; matches goods with receiving slips accurately.
• Rotates incoming supplies with shelf stock to prevent expiration.
• Ensures the rotation of medical supplies within the par stock area on each nursing unit.
• Assumes responsibility for over the counter issues, courier service and bed storage/transfer services.
• Ensures all work areas are clean and orderly.
• Place materials and supplies in designated locations for distribution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintains medical supplies inventory for designated departments.
• Accurately counts par levels and replenishes par levels per established schedule.
• Organizes storage areas in a neat and orderly manner.
• Notifies lead distribution technician when any stock levels reaches critical low levels or outage.
• Ensures that all patient chargeable items are clearly and accurately labeled with date and charge number. Accuracy in matching goods with receiving slips.
• Accuracy in counting supplies on assigned par levels.
• Accuracy in checking for expired goods.
• Amends par level sheets to meet the needs of the department.
• Rotates incoming supplies with supplies on the shelf to ensure that no products expire.
• Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
• Ensures the highest possible level of service to patient care areas through accurate inventory of par stock areas.
• Ensures the rotation of medical supplies within the par stock area on each nursing unit.
• Assumes responsibility for over the counter issues, courier service and bed storage/transfer services.
• Ensures all work areas are clean and orderly.
