Job summary

Meta Reality Labs is seeking a Materials Program Manager in Sunnyvale, CA to lead material strategy across S&OP cycles, owning budgeting, E&O planning, and lifecycle risk mitigation. You will drive short- and long-term demand/supply forecasting and align lifetime volume scenarios with Sales and Finance.

You will collaborate across contracts, engineering, and global supply management to optimize sourcing strategies and ensure supply chain resilience.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of material management, supply chain, or purchasing in a high-volume hardware industry.
  • Experience solving material planning problems using data analysis across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impact.
  • Proven experience developing data models or partnering with IT teams to design scalable tools for efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end material strategy and execution across S&OP cycles from early product development through End-of-Manufacturing.

  • Design and implement a Material Drive strategy to manage buffers and flexibility at the component level.
  • Drive forecasting and align lifetime volume scenarios with sales and Finance.
  • Coordinate production readiness and material allocation across sites to optimize supply chain performance.
  • Develop what-if scenarios and present trade-offs across cost, service, inventory, and capacity.
  • Collaborate with contract manufacturers, engineering, cost engineering, and global supply management on sourcing opportunities.
  • Partner with Planning, Operations, Procurement, Quality, and Finance to shape supply chain strategies.
  • Drive contingency planning and risk mitigation to protect continuity and financial targets.

Summary:

The S&OP Materials Program Management team drives material strategy and execution in support of Meta Reality Labs' product roadmap — balancing supply flexibility, cost exposure, and operational resilience across the full product portfolio.Meta Reality Labs is seeking a Materials Program Manager to lead material strategy across our Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycles. In this role, you will own material budgeting, Excess & Obsolescence (E&O) planning, and risk mitigation across the product lifecycle. You will drive both short-term and long-term material planning, demand/supply forecasting, and alignment of Lifetime Volume scenarios with Sales and Finance stakeholders through End-of-Manufacturing.

  1. Lead end-to-end material strategy and execution across S&OP cycles, from early product development through End-of-Manufacturing

  2. Own material budget management, E&O planning, and lifecycle risk mitigation across the product portfolio

  3. Design and implement a Material Drive strategy to manage appropriate buffers and flexibility at the component level, enabling rapid response to demand changes

  4. Drive short-term and long-term demand/supply forecasting and align lifetime volume scenarios with sales and finance stakeholders

  5. Drive cross-functional alignment on production readiness qualification priority and material allocation across sites and programs to optimize supply chain performance

  6. Develop "what-if" scenarios (e.g., capacity constraints, supplier disruptions, demand spikes) and present trade-off recommendations across cost, service level, inventory, and capacity dimensions

  7. Collaborate with Contract Manufacturers, Engineering, Product Cost Engineering, and Global Supply Management to assess sourcing opportunities — including multi-source, alternate source, and multi-flow/site strategies — while driving cross-functional Risk Buy approval and procurement kick-off

  8. Partner cross-functionally with Planning, Operations, Procurement, Quality, and Finance — as well as externally with contract manufacturers — to shape critical supply chain strategies and deliver results

  9. Drive contingency planning and risk mitigation strategies to protect supply chain continuity and financial targets

  6. Proven experience developing data models or partnering with IT /Solution teams to design and scale tools/systems for efficiency improvement

  7. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

  8. Track record of driving alignment with cross-functional teams through structured communication, stakeholder engagement, and shared decision-making — both internally and with external manufacturing partners

  9. Experience managing high-volume consumer electronics product launches and delivery

Public Compensation:

$121,000/year to $177,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
