Job summary

NPAworldwide is seeking a Materials & Planning Manager in Greenville, SC to lead production planning, inventory control, and warehouse operations. This hands-on leadership role focuses on improving execution, developing the team, and ensuring materials are available to support production.

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will guide the Production Controller and Warehouse Supervisor and shape the materials and warehouse function for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in manufacturing, production planning, materials, warehousing, or logistics.
• 3+ years in people leadership managing teams.
• Strong knowledge of production scheduling, inventory flow and warehousing.
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred.
• Track record of improving operational processes and leading projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead production planning and create schedules based on capacity and material availability.
• Monitor schedule attainment and coordinate recovery actions.
• Oversee inventory control, cycle counts, reconciliation, and readiness.
• Manage warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and material movement.
• Ensure material availability when releases occur to support production.
• Lead WMS implementation, training, and sustainable adoption.
• Improve inventory accuracy with standard work, audits, and discipline.
• Use ERP, WMS, Excel, Power BI and KPIs to boost visibility and performance.
• Develop supervisors and team leads with accountability and problem-solving skills.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and sustain gains.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Shipping, and others.

Our client, a global manufacturer is seeking a Materials & Planning Manager to lead production planning, inventory control, warehouse operations, and material readiness within a growing manufacturing environment in Greenville, SC. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on improving operational execution, developing the team, strengthening processes, and ensuring materials are available to support production.

The position reports to the Senior Operations Manager and will lead the Production Controller and Warehouse Supervisor, with broader oversight of the materials and warehouse team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead production planning and develop achievable schedules based on capacity, material availability, and operational constraints
• Monitor schedule attainment and coordinate recovery actions when production commitments are missed
• Lead inventory control, cycle counting, reconciliation, and physical inventory readiness
• Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, material movement, picking, kitting, and material presentation
• Ensure materials are available when production work is released and reduce material-related shortages
• Lead WMS implementation, training, process adoption, and long-term sustainment
• Improve inventory and bin-location accuracy through standard work, audits, and system discipline
• Use ERP, WMS, Excel, Power BI, KPIs, and other technology to improve visibility and operational performance
• Coach and develop supervisors, team leads, and employees while strengthening accountability and independent problem-solving
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and ensure improvements are sustained
• Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Shipping, and other departments

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, production planning, materials management, inventory control, warehousing, logistics, supply chain, or a related operational environment
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing employees, team leads, supervisors, or operational functions
• Strong knowledge of production scheduling, inventory control, material flow, and warehouse operations
• Experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred
• Demonstrated success improving operational processes and driving projects through completion
• Strong leadership, coaching, accountability, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Manufacturing experience strongly preferred, particularly in low-volume, high-mix, engineer-to-order, or complex manufacturing
• WMS implementation or optimization experience preferred
• Lean, 5S, continuous improvement, or process-standardization experience preferred
• Experience with Excel, Power BI, dashboards, KPIs, automation, or other technology-driven operational tools is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
