Allison Transmission is seeking an Assistant Materials Manager in Lafayette, IN to support the Materials Manager in planning, coordinating, and controlling material requirements for manufacturing operations. You will help ensure a steady flow of approved materials aligned with production and customer delivery commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication, leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Sales & Operations Planning — Assist in developing the Demand Plan based on sales backlog and support S&OP rollout.
• Plant Shipment Goals — Drive monthly shipments to meet AOP goals.
• Forecasting — Support forecast throughout the month.
• Daily Shipment Coordination — Collaborate with Customer Service for timely shipments.
• Cycle Counting — Support inventory accuracy.
• System Improvements — Support continuous improvement of material management systems.
• On-Time Delivery Support — Contribute to achieving customer OTD goals.
• AFM performance — Support AFM channel to meet customer needs.
• Receiving — Ensure prompt and economical receipt of materials and that plant standards are met.
• Leadership — Define objectives, allocate resources, monitor activities, and develop the team.
