Job summary

Blue Origin’s Production Control team is seeking a dedicated Production Control Specialist to support rate production for New Glenn. You will focus on clearing backlog, disposing idle orders, and maintaining MRP/ERP data integrity to ensure schedule execution.

You will provide expediting support on hot jobs, drive work-center coverage, manage off-nominal shift hand-offs, and report daily burn-down metrics to leadership. Flexible shift coverage is required to address gaps across B/C/D shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in schedule management, expediting, or backlog/data clean-up within manufacturing/production.
• Direct experience with ERP/MRP platforms (SAP, Costpoint or equivalent) with comfort in raw data.
• Ability to self-manage, ramp quickly, and resolve high-volume data backlogs in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for human spaceflight and aerospace manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Backlog remediation: analyze, disposition, and close out aged or stalled work orders; unblock kitted parts.
• ERP/MRP data integrity: correct production data, material status, and inventory records directly in ERP/MRP.
• Expediting & schedule execution: track hot jobs, identify missing materials, resolve bottlenecks to prevent slips.
• Shift flexibility & communication: support B/C/D shifts and report burn-down metrics clearly.

About the Job: In this role, you will join Blue Origin’s Production Control team to support rate production for New Glenn. Designed as a dedicated surge and clean-up function, you will aggressively attack work-order backlog debt—dispositioning idle orders, resolving kitted parts trapped in stalled jobs, and maintaining strict MRP/ERP data integrity. Additionally, you will provide critical expediting muscle on hot jobs, drive work-center coverage, handle off-nominal shift hand-offs, and report daily burn-down metrics to ensure manufacturing schedule execution.

Shift: Flexible coverage; willingness and availability to support off-nominal shifts (B/C/D shifts) as coverage gaps arise.

Location: Blue Origin Production Facilities

What We’re Looking For Education & Experience

Experience in schedule management, expediting, or backlog/data clean-up within a manufacturing or production environment.

Direct experience working with ERP/MRP platforms (e.g., SAP, Costpoint, or equivalent) with comfort working directly in raw data.

Demonstrated ability to self-manage, ramp up quickly, and resolve high-volume data backlogs in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Passion for human spaceflight and aerospace manufacturing.

Must-Have Skills

Backlog Remediation & Work Order Management: Skill in analyzing, dispositioning, and closing out aged, idle, or stalled work orders, as well as unblocking kitted part numbers.

ERP/MRP Data Integrity: Hands-on proficiency navigating and correcting production data, material status, and inventory records directly inside ERP/MRP systems.

Expediting & Schedule Execution: Expertise in tracking hot jobs, identifying missing materials/kits, resolving cross-departmental bottlenecks, and preventing schedule slips.

Shift Flexibility & Communication: Ability to provide off-nominal shift support (B/C/D), communicate daily burn-down metrics clearly, and ...

Nice-to-Have Skills (Preferred)

Specialized experience in backlog remediation, data cleanup, or rapid expediting (beyond steady-state production scheduling).

Prior experience in both hardware development and rate-production manufacturing environments (Aerospace or Automotive preferred).

Familiarity with Microsoft Office (including MS Project), Jira/ITS, and modern AI data tools.
