Job summary

Teledyne Energy Systems, Inc. in Hunt Valley, MD is seeking a Materials Planner to drive planning and scheduling across fabrication and assembly.

The role partners with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing and Program Management to align material flow with production needs and customer commitments. Responsibilities include maintaining material master data, reviewing MRP messages, managing supplier lead times and quotes, and ensuring compliance with AS9100/ISO9001.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of Planning / Scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, especially item masters, BOMs, inventory management, manufacturing orders, and revision control.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with multiple departments to understand business requirements, identify risks, and manage critical paths.
• Plan and schedule fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations, including release of manufacturing orders as components become available.
• Own and maintain material master data in the ERP system - lead times, safety stock, reorder points, standard lot-sizing rules, and planning parameters.
• Review and action MRP messages daily to prevent material shortages and support strategic order placement.
• Manage the execution of engineering change notices as they relate to scheduled manufacturing orders.
• Evaluate suppliers by price, quality, lead times and other criteria.
• Monitor supplier delivery schedules and mitigate with Program Management as needed.
• Negotiate, obtain final quotes, and create detailed purchase requisitions for goods and services.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Program Management to resolve material, schedule, and production constraints.
• Ensure planning and scheduling processes adhere to Teledyne’s AS9100 / ISO9001 certifications.

Experience with Deltek Costpoint strongly preferred.* Working knowledge of MRP planning logic, including demand and supply signals, lead-time offsets, reschedule messages, and planning parameters.* Proactive approach to identifying and resolving scheduling challenges.* Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and record keeping.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook and Excel.* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.* Ability to work independently and in a team environment.* Experience with Government contracts desired. **Work Location & Schedule:** * This is a full-time exempt, onsite position working Monday through Friday on a day-shift schedule.
