Job summary

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve vehicle efficiency and performance. We are seeking a materials planner/inventory control professional to maintain optimal inventory, manage planning data in SAP/Oracle, and coordinate with suppliers and production teams to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of applicable experience.
  • Two years' experience in production/inventory control preferred.
  • MRP experience required, SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain optimal inventory by tracking usage and initiating replenishment orders.
  • Input and manage material planning data in systems like SAP or Oracle.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and production teams to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Monitor inventory levels and address supply issues.
  • Support change management projects and new launches.

Job description

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving two primary markets – passenger vehicle and commercial truck equipment – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain optimal inventory by tracking usage, identifying shortages or excesses, and initiating replenishment orders.
  • Input and manage material planning data in systems like SAP or Oracle to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Use plant systems to maintain supplier and material information.
  • Monitor pickups and deliveries of material through RXO.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels
  • Act as liaison between plant personnel and supplier to ensure on time delivery and address any delivery issues.
  • Execute expedites as required to support customer requirements.
  • Support change management projects including engineering changes, resourcing, and new launches.
  • Resolve receipt discrepancies through internal invoice portal and validate with cycle counts.
  • Perform all job responsibilities, duties and projects assigned, in a legal ethical manner consistent with current policies, procedures and industry standards.
  • Participate in inventory and cycle count activities as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Manager.
Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of applicable experience

  • Ability to interpret production schedules, demand forecasts, and inventory data.
  • Plan material requirements accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage material planning, inventory tracking, and procurement coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with suppliers, procurement, production, and logistics teams, ensuring alignment and timely issue resolution.
  • MRP Experience is required – experience with SAP preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of planning activities.
  • Must be able to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt.
  • Must have effective communication and analytical skills.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in production/inventory control in manufacturing environment is preferred.
