Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation, Manitowoc Parflex Division, is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to lead materials planning, inventory control, and procurement across the manufacturing location. You will coordinate with suppliers, production planners, and internal teams to optimize material flow and cost effectiveness.

The role emphasizes lean practices, data integrity in the MRP system, and leadership of the Materials Management and Shipping/Receiving teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years purchasing/materials management experience in high‑volume manufacturing.
• Experience with MRPII, JIT, cellular manufacturing; APICS/CPM certification preferred.
• Four‑year college degree in business, engineering, or materials management; certification preferred.
• Analytical and technical skills to identify automation opportunities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication with internal/external contacts.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (spreadsheets, word processing, databases, presentations).

• Plan and coordinate the flow of materials and information from suppliers through procurement to delivery.

Position Summary

Provide leadership of Supply Chain Management activities for the Manitowoc Parflex Division manufacturing location. Supply Chain Management activities will include materials planning; scheduling; inventory control; cash flow management; information flow and coordination and asset management.

Responsibilities

1. Work with suppliers, business unit managers, purchasing, production planners, IT and other appropriate resources to strategically plan and coordinate the flow of materials and information from customers through procurement to delivery.
2. Matrix management responsibilities with business units and support groups for production planning, shipping, receiving and inventory functions.
3. Provides direct leadership and management of materials management functions.
4. Provides direct leadership and management of Shipping/Receiving Team.
5. Lead and manage all procurement and materials management activities including order placement, supplier reduction/evaluation/certification, supplier follow‑up, price negotiation and compliance with government procurement regulations.
6. Responsible for Production Planning Department's manufacturing resource‑planning activities.
7. Matrix responsibilities for personnel involved with the MRP database to achieve and maintain a high degree of data accuracy, integrity, and ownership.
8. Accountable for location/division materials metrics and Standards of Performance.
9. Help define and implement automated systems to plan and track material flow from customers through procurement to delivery to support a supply chain management strategy.
10. Ensure all the location/division's material management policies are consistent with the inventory control objectives of the Corporation.
11. Facilitate corporate purchasing and materials initiatives including common part numbers, supplier managed inventory, consolidated purchasing agreements, supplier reduction and supplier quality certifications.
12. Advise on supplier managed inventory or supplier‑based contracts with customers.
13. Support internal or external audit requirements relative to the planning, procurement or inventory control functions.
14. Prepare and manage department budget within established guidelines.
15. Effectively create and sustain procurement to delivery material and system cost reduction programs.
16. Provide professional development for all materials team members.
17. Explain and support company policies and procedures.
18. Actively support and implement lean principles.
19. Facilitate kanban, materials requirement planning techniques
20. Assist with other duties as assigned.
21. Minimal travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years applicable purchasing/materials management experience in a world‑class, high volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience in state‑of‑the‑art materials management systems including supply chain management, cash flow and asset management, JIT, MRPII, cellular manufacturing and with APICS/CPM certification preferred.
• Four year college degree in business, engineering, or materials management required with certification in materials management and quality preferred.
• Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft PC software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, databases and presentations).

Physical Requirements

This is a Working Manager role, therefore our standard manufacturing physical requirements apply. These physical requirements ensure safety and effective job performance, including:

Standing: Ability to stand for 8+ hours during a shift.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ability to wear required PPE such as safety shoes, eye protection (glasses/goggles), hearing protection, safety vests, and gloves.

Repetitive Motions: Frequent use of hands for tasks such as using safety scissors, bending tubing, taping tube, and connecting hose assemblies.

Sorting: Ability to sort items by size, shape, and color.

Physical Movements: Includes pushing, pulling, kneeling, and squatting as part of daily duties.

Lifting: Ability to lift up to 45 pounds safely.

Sensory Requirements: Must have the ability to perceive color accurately and hear plant paging, alarms, and other important auditory signals.
