Job Overview

Own the Flow. Drive the Operation. Lead What Moves the Business. At the Ingersoll Rand West Chester site, you’ll step into a mission‑critical hub where uptime, precision, and real‑world impact collide. As Manager, Materials, you own the flow of materials, teams, and execution across a high‑velocity manufacturing operation. You’ll lead an integrated network of material planning, buyer/planners, and production scheduling, ensuring seamless alignment from demand through delivery in a fast‑paced, just‑in‑time, make‑to‑order environment.

This role carries full accountability for materials planning, inventory strategy, and supply execution, making you a key driver of plant performance, scalability, and continuous improvement. You will also own warehouse operations and inventory control end‑to‑end, ensuring accuracy, discipline, and integrity across physical inventory and cycle count processes. In addition, you will lead shipping and receiving operations through a supervisor and broader team responsible for inbound, outbound, and traffic execution—ensuring materials move with speed and precision across the site.

Deeply embedded in Lean and continuous improvement, this role drives impact across key KPIs including inventory turns, on‑time shipping to request date, and days past due, while strengthening overall supply chain performance. You will ensure uninterrupted material availability to support production, proactively closing gaps, removing constraints, and elevating execution across the operation. What sets this role apart is the expectation for hands‑on leadership when it matters most—month‑end close, peak shipping or receiving volumes, and urgent customer demands. This is not a distance‑based leadership role; it is real‑time ownership of execution.

If you’re looking to lead broadly, execute deeply, and directly impact plant performance in motion—this is it.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with other facilities to forecast any remanufactured product requirements.
  • Strategy: Deploy strategic objectives into annual goals and individual KPIs across the organization by working with teams to set appropriate targets to build daily and monthly routines to manage the business.
  • Product Lifecycle: Plan for material life cycle management and eliminate obsolete inventory items while working to reduce waste through the value chain. Develop and monitor compliance with requirements related to the introduction of new products.
  • Management: Develop employees through recruitment, training, coaching and establishing goals and objectives.
  • Problem‑solving culture: Develop a culture that is tied to Daily Management by leveraging tools, consulting skills and change management processes.
