KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Production Planning, and Manufacturing to ensure material availability and reduce handling.

2. Production Material Flow and Distribution

  • Lead the timely and accurate picking, staging, and delivery of materials to the correct point of use locations in accordance with production schedules and routings.

  • Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing lists for correct part number and quantity; direct material to the appropriate stockroom or work center location.
  • Ensure receipts are processed accurately and promptly in ERP/Epicor, with proper labeling and traceability.

4. Shipping and Domestic/International Logistics

  • Direct daily shipping so finished machines, parts orders, and service order components ship on schedule.
  • Coordinate with trucking companies, freight carriers, parcel services, freight forwarders, and customs brokers; select appropriate transportation based on size, weight, destination, and delivery requirements. Ensure products are properly packaged, palletized, or crated to ensure products are not damaged in transit.
  • Maintain working knowledge of international shipping requirements, particularly to Europe, and ensure country-of-origin documentation, export declarations, customs documentation, and shipment details are complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate export classification, licensing, filing, and other trade-compliance requirements with designated internal subject-matter experts; hold and escalated shipments requiring review before release.

5. Team Leadership and Employee Development

  • Direct, schedule, and prioritize the daily work of employees across receiving, stockroom, inventory control, material distribution, and shipping, with clear assignments and accountability for quality, productivity, safety, and accuracy.
  • Train and develop team members, ensure cross-training, and provide timely coaching, feedback, and correction of performance issues.
  • Promote ownership, teamwork, responsiveness, housekeeping, and continuous improvement; ensure employees follow safety procedures and are trained and authorized to operate material-handling equipment.
  • Lead by example through active participation in stockroom, receiving, inventory, and shipping activities; demonstrate standard work, and support process questions. Key Performance Measures:
  • Inventory accuracy.
  • On-time and accurate material delivery to production.
  • On-time, accurate, and compliant customer and service-part shipments.
