Job summary

Nucor Advantage Metals Recycling LLC in Kansas City, KS is seeking a hybrid Inspector/Scale Operator. The role involves directing customers to unload materials, inspecting for hazardous items, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

You will assist with shipments, purchasing and daily reconciliations, and support other team members as needed. Minimum qualifications include 2 years in an industrial/outdoor environment and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 2 years in an industrial/outdoor work environment
• Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with customers
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Working experience around large trucks and heavy equipment preferred
• Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist and direct customers to proper location to unload materials
• Inspect for the existence of flammable, radioactive, hazardous, and/or leaded materials
• Inspect materials for liquids, non-metallic and all other posted or non-posted materials that are non-acceptable
• Remove and properly store any items or material occasionally
• Coordinate shipments (rail and truck) and maintain safety records
• Obtain required information from customers for all transactions and complete required purchasing/shipping documents
• Ensure regulatory and company requirements are met
• May assist other workers as needed
