Job summary

Chem-Trend, a Freudenberg Group company, is seeking a Materials Informatics Scientist to lead generative AI and physics-informed ML for product and material discovery, design, and processes supporting sustainable mobility. You will develop data-driven and physics-based models, analyze materials data, and collaborate across global teams, presenting results to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in computational methods for material and product design.
• Experience with cheminformatics and materials informatics; Generative AI and ML tools.

Responsibilities

• Leads activities in generative AI and physics-informed ML for product, formulation, material/process discovery and design.
• Develop advanced data-driven and physics-based models for sustainable solutions and new mobility applications.
• Analyze and interpret materials data using advanced statistical and data mining techniques.
• Plan experimental campaigns for model development, validation and deployment with Freudenberg groups.
• Identify and prioritize promising materials candidates for further investigation.
• Collaborate with experts across locations to develop high-impact solutions.
• Communicate results through reports and presentations to technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level.
• Collaborates with industry/academic specialists to apply results and develop new techniques.

Education

PhD or equivalent experience in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, data science, computer science, physics, mechanical engineering, or a related field
