The Colorado Department of Public Safety is seeking a Warehouse Operations Specialist for the DHSEM PPE warehouse, serving state agencies and municipalities across Colorado. This in-person role manages daily inventory, storage, and distribution of PPE and emergency supplies, emphasizing accuracy and safety.
Responsibilities include receiving, storing, inventorying, operating forklifts, coordinating with SEOC, and delivering supplies across the Denver Front Range.
This position is open only to Colorado state residents.
An eligible list established with this recruitment may be used to fill other similar positions within the Colorado Department of Public Safety in the next 12 months.

This position is located within the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM). The Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is a consolidated Emergency Management and Homeland Security team. The Division's mission is to lead and support Colorado’s efforts to prevent, protect, mitigate, respond to and recover from all-hazard events
The Office of Emergency Management conducts the four phases of emergency management (Preparedness, Response, Mitigation and Recovery) in coordination with other State Agencies and in support of local jurisdictions. It integrates emergency management efforts across all levels of government, including state, local, tribal and federal.
The Logistics Unit within the OEM Response Section and the Logistics Section within the State Emergency Operations Center manage the State All-Hazards Resource Mobilization Database and the All-Hazards Resource Mobilization System in order to meet statutory requirements established in C.R.S 24-33.5-705.3 and C.R.S 24-33.5-705.4. This unit identifies, procures, dispatches and tracks resources during planned events and emergencies or disasters at the State, Tribal and local level. Additionally, this unit ensures resources are properly reimbursed with federal or state funds when appropriate. During emergencies or disasters, this unit serves as the State Emergency Operations Center Logistics Section. In this role, this unit identifies resource requirements and coordinates with federal, State, Tribal and local jurisdictions and private industry to rapidly locate, task and mobilize resources to respond to and recover from emergencies and disasters. This unit is responsible for developing the all-hazards components of the State Resource Mobilization Plan and it prepares and conducts logistics and resource mobilization training for State agencies and Tribal and local jurisdictions. Additionally, this unit serves as the State’s logistics point of contact for federal agencies before, during and after emergencies and disasters.
To warehouse, distribute and purchase all PPE and services required by Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management under state rules and regulations, utilizing competitive bidding to provide best quality for lowest prices.
Maintains inventory control of all DHSEM warehouse locations in accordance with state fiscal rules.

Work unit core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with some flexibility
This position exists to safely store, maintain, inventory, and distribute Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) Warehouse to any state agency or municipality throughout Colorado, as directed by the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC). The role is responsible for daily warehouse operations, equipment upkeep, inventory accountability, and regional delivery assistance.
