Job summary

Community College of Aurora is hiring for a full-time Materials Handler II in the Facilities Department. The role involves receiving and distributing campus materials, operating pallet jacks and equipment, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Note: Work hours for this position will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. May need to work occasional shifts outside of the regular shift to meet the needs of the department. Successful candidate must be able to follow verbal communications and be able to read and comprehend written directions. Also, must be able to interpret written directives, policies, and memos. An essential function of this position requires the individual to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. You must be able to perform this level of physical exertion and essential functions in order to be considered for this position.

This full-time position is located in the Facilities Department at Community College of Aurora, CentreTech Campus. Primary duties and responsibilities include: receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality. Distribute materials, equipment, and furniture to appropriate locations. Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment to ensure safe and efficient transportation of materials.

Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages across campus. Process outgoing shipments, including weighing, metering, and tracking. Maintain accurate records for chargebacks and ensure mailroom equipment is operational and well-stocked. Arrange and remove tables, chairs, and equipment for events and room reservations. Monitor and maintain inventory of event-related furniture and equipment, ensuring items are in good condition and reporting any repair or replacement needs. Assist with tagging and tracking assets to ensure proper documentation and compliance with state and institutional policies. Conduct regular inventory audits, update records, and resolve discrepancies in coordination with the Operations Program Assistant.

Adhere to safety procedures for materials handling, mailroom operations, and event logistics. Conduct regular inspections of storage, mailroom, and event equipment for safety, cleanliness, and organization. Support snow removal and de-icing efforts when needed. Provide feedback to the Operations Program Assistant on process improvements and perform additional tasks as assigned, including emergency preparedness activities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience Only

Two (2) years of experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or materials handling environment involving the receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies, equipment, or materials. Do not use "SEE RESUME" statements on application; your application must be completed in detail and clearly document your relevant work experience. Part-time experience will be pro-rated.

Education and Experience

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in warehouse operations, logistics, supply chain management, or a closely related field may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis. Conditions of Employment

Must possess and maintain a valid State of Colorado driver's license to independently drive company vehicles and equipment around the campus, pick up parts, etc. Must submit to and successfully complete a pre-employment background check to include a motor vehicle report (MVR) as a condition of hire. Felony convictions or conviction of crimes of moral turpitude or convictions of misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from consideration for this position. Should your background check reveal any charges and convictions, it is your responsibility to provide CCA Office of Human Resources with an official disposition of the charges.

An essential function of this position requires the individual to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. It also requires constant or frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and depth perception. You must be able to perform this level of physical exertion and essential functions in order to be considered for this position.
