Job summary

PDM is seeking a Material Handler/Driver responsible for keeping inventory, locating materials for production, and preparing finished stock for shipment. The Driver will deliver finished products and materials to customer locations, supporting plant operations in Carlisle, IA.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, documenting shipments, and maintaining equipment. OSHA forklift certification and valid CDL are preferred, with outdoor work year-round in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• OSHA forklift operation certificate required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work outdoors year-round.

Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials in stock.
• Locates materials by pulling and verifying against production orders.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment including packing and loading.
• Documents shipments by recording units shipped.
• Maintains material-handling equipment through pre-use inspections.
• Kitting materials for fabrication assemblies.
• Delivers loads to job sites using trucks and gooseneck trailers.

Reports to: Plant Manager

Position Summary: Responsible for maintaining inventory, locating material for production orders, and preparing finished stock for shipment. The Driver is responsible for the delivery of finished product, parts and materials to customer locations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
• Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
• Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
• Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
• Maintains in-process inventory
• Kitting materials for fabrication assemblies
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Identify and accurately pre-package loads utilizing the shipping report
• Load and secure materials on trailers for shipment
• Deliver loads to job sites utilizing a truck and gooseneck trailer

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education: Current and valid OSHA forklift operation certificate High school diploma/GED required

Knowledge and Skills:

• CDL - preferred
• Fork truck certified- preferred
• Telescoping fork truck certified – preferred
• Ability to be self-motivated and works well independently
• Good organizational skills
• Self-motivated

Previous Experience: 1+ years’ inventory management experience

Physical:

Applicants must be able to walk and stand on feet for extended period of time, lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs, crawl on hands and knees, climb a ladder and be able to work long hours. This position works outdoors year-round and therefore subject to all weather conditions, sometimes to include extreme cold and heat.
