Job summary

Dayton Superior Corporation is seeking a forklift-operator capable individual to support warehouse and production operations on-site. You will move pallets and materials, load/unload, and ensure raw materials are available for machines in use.

Strong candidates have 2–5 years of related experience, HS Diploma or GED, and forklift qualification. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in a manufacturing environment is expected.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred; specialized skills training or certification may be required.
• 2–5 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• Must be a trained and qualified forklift operator.

Responsibilities

• Move pallets and containers from machines following work orders or verbal instructions.
• Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand.
• Move material from storage or work sites to designated areas to ensure raw materials are available.
• Stack and assemble materials into bundles; band bundles.
• Remove empty pallets from equipment.
• Perform duties of Shipper/Receiver as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsible for safely facilitating the movement of finished and unfinished material through the manufacturing and production process.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Reviews work orders or follows verbal instructions to move pallets and containers from machines.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Moves material from storage or work sites to designated areas. Ensures that operators have all the raw materials to operate their equipment.
• Stacks and assembles materials into bundles. Bands bundles.
• Removes empty pallets from equipment.
• Performs duties of Shipper/Receiver as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope

• Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
• Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.
• None.

Work Environment

• Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
• Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.

Education and Experience
