Job description

Your Role

The Materials Engineering Intern will support materials engineering projects related to metal components used in automotive applications. This includes assisting in material selection, testing, analysis, and process optimization to improve performance, durability, and cost‑efficiency of metal parts. This position will be located in Warren, OH.

Key job responsibilities for this role include:
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure material compliance
  • Support material selection and specification development
  • Coordinate material samples and support processing/performance evaluations
  • Assist in failure analysis and root cause investigations of metal components
  • Participate in lab testing to evaluate material composition and performance
  • Document findings and prepare technical presentations
Experience & Qualifications
  • Pursuing degree in Materials Science/Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • Knowledge of metal forming processes, preferably high‑speed stamping
  • Knowledge of electroplating process and chemistries
  • Knowledge of precious metals and tribology
  • Must maintain minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Adept in all Microsoft suite software, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
Nice to have
  • Engineering or Manufacturing experience in Automotive/Electronics industry
  • Experience operating analytical equipment (SEM, XRF, ICP, Profilometer, Tribometer)
