Job summary

The Kinetic Group is seeking a Materials Engineer III to serve as the technical authority on steel materials across anoka operations. You will drive material performance, optimize manufacturing processes, and reduce defects through rigorous metallurgical analysis and testing.

You will develop specifications and testing standards, lead raw material qualification, and mentor teams to grow internal expertise in metallurgy and materials engineering. This role reports to the Sr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience working with steel materials in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong expertise in steel metallurgy, heat treatment, microstructure control, and material properties.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for steel metallurgy, alloy selection, heat treatment, and material performance.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations to optimize material and process performance across production.
• Lead investigations into material-related issues, including cracking, hardness variation, and microstructural inconsistencies.
• Develop and maintain material specifications, testing standards, and best practices to improve quality and manufacturability.
• Mentor engineers and technical teams in metallurgy and materials engineering.
