Eastman Chemical Company seeks a Materials Engineer to provide SME support for Eastman plants worldwide, including corrosion studies, failure analysis, metallography, and materials of construction for capital projects and process equipment.

Requires a Bachelor's or higher in Materials or related field and 5+ years in corrosion/asset integrity, metallography, microscopy, and testing. You will coordinate lab work and support RBI and coatings across global plants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in Materials Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in corrosion, failure analysis, metallurgy, asset integrity, or related areas.
  • Ability to apply materials knowledge to industrial engineering problems.
  • Experience with metallography, microscopy, failure analysis, and corrosion testing.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide SME support for corrosion studies, root-cause failure analysis, metallography, and materials of construction designs for projects and operations.
  • Support RBI and asset integrity programs across site operations.
  • Coordinate materials laboratory work and design corrosion/compatibility tests.
  • Assist in selecting materials for new plants/equipment and in corrosion monitoring plans.
  • Collaborate with global manufacturing plants to ensure material performance.
