Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in materials selection, design, fabrication, and failure analysis.
• 3+ years of experience supervising materials engineering and scientific efforts.
• Experience using ICME and finite element analysis.
• Experience with additive or advanced manufacturing and corrosion prevention and control.
• Experience processing, testing, and modeling composites, polymers, or ceramics.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree in materials engineering, materials science, metallurgical engineering, polymer or ceramic engineering, or a physical science discipline.
• Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, characterize, and certify materials solutions for ground vehicle survivability and protection.
• Evaluate physical and chemical properties and performance under extreme environments.
• Leverage ICME and AI models to accelerate discovery of novel alloys and high-performance materials.
• Lead failure analysis investigations and determine root causes.
• Develop NDE methodologies to inspect materials for subsurface flaws.
• Develop technical reports and standardize material specifications.
