Advantage Technical is hiring a Materials Engineer in Torrington, CT to shape aircraft interiors through innovative materials. You will select technologies, develop test plans, and lead new product development from concept to qualification.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field and 1–5 years of engineering experience. The position offers a day-shift, full-time schedule with travel as needed, and opportunities to work with advanced manufacturing and quality systems in a collaborative

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or Materials Science or related field.
• 1-5 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably in aircraft interiors.
• Strong knowledge of FRP composites, plastics, polymers, and adhesives.
• Design engineering experience and exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies.

Responsibilities

• Recommend technologies and inputs to fit customer requirements.
• Introduce innovative concepts for new and existing product lines.
• Evaluate options and develop property requirements and test plans.
• Lead new product development from concept through production qualification.
• Test physical properties using standardized methods and write test reports.
• Ensure specifications, cost targets, and timing plans are met.
• Build and test prototypes with technical staff.
• Travel to customers, suppliers, or company facilities as needed.
• Support Quality and AS9100 standards and safety practices.

Job Duties:

• Recommend the best technologies and inputs to fit customer requirements
• Introduce innovative concepts for new and existing product lines
