Job Summary

Position summary:
Coordinate efforts within the Product Verification Section and between other TS Tech groups, customers and suppliers during the product testing process. Have moderate level of understanding of automotive products and applications and relevant engineering problem solving experience. Ensure that the final test reports meet or exceed customer and/or internal requirements. Identify and solve problems that arise with the testing process. Work alongside other engineers within the section. Focus area will be on Door Liner and Powersports seat testing along with material component testing on plastics, metals, elastomers, including, physical properties (Tensile, Elongation, etc.) and appearance testing.
Qualifications/Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical/work experience
- Basic understanding of physics including Statics, Dynamics and Kinematics
- Basic understanding of materials property testing
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook
- Moderate understanding of testing methods and product quality, cost, and delivery
- Moderate knowledge of automotive products and applications
- Prepares and may present technical reports and presentations (Reports, Schedules, Non-Conforming Work, Continuous Improvement Ideas)
- Collaborates among different groups to achieve overall company goals
- Communicates with customer and supplier to maintain relationships, expectations, negotiations and communication (Outside Stakeholders)
- Actively participates and engages in sectional, departmental, project, and customer meetings
- Planning
- Creates and maintains a schedule(s) to proactively manage areas of responsibility and resources. (Testing Schedule / Data Collection / PIF / TMC / MBO / CAR / Budget / etc)
- Ability to lead testing technicians to ensure schedules and reports are accurate and stay on track while meeting all standard procedures and conforming to ISO policies
- Technical Know-How
- Understands and locates applicable information (DWG, SPEC, Regulations)
- Understands the process and purpose of analyzing, solving and communicating problems and solutions
- Demonstrates overall engineering aptitude (engineering fundamentals)
- Has high knowledge base of most aspects of TS Tech products and testing methods
- Effectively demonstrates moderate degree of mechanical aptitude and hands on ability
- Support department growth through new equipment and efficiency activities
Specific Job Requirements
- Testing Process Control
- Coordinate test methodology and deliverables between test requester and testing technicians
- Effectively schedule and plan upcoming testing activities and resources including manpower, equipment and other resources
- Ensure the quality of test data with emphasis on man, method and machine
- Confirm test execution meets or exceeds customer expectations
- Responsible for final report generation and technical content
- Supports the efforts of the department in meeting internal and external policies and procedures including ISO 9001 / 17025.
- Emphasis on product Safety, Strength, Airbag Deployment and Government Regulations
- Support the development and proposal of reoccurrence prevention methods
- Seek out, understand and communicate new or revised regulations and requirements
- Supports in the development of new equipment and methods
