CSI Sands (N.E.) is seeking a Materials Dispatch Coordinator (Night Shift) for our Buffalo, NY site. The role reports to the Operations Manager and involves coordinating drivers and rail crews, supervising sampling, and ensuring accurate shipping documentation.

The candidate will perform sieve analysis, calibrate lab equipment, and report quality control issues while balancing safety and productivity in a plant setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret plant process schematics.
• Able to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Experience with quality control sampling in a plant environment.
• Basic mechanical skills for operating sampling points and lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Take sand samples at various locations in the plant facility.
• Complete sieve analysis of plant sand samples.
• Label and prepare sample containers for boat load sampling.
• Analyze boat load shipments and report quality issues.
• Calibrate and test lab equipment as required.
• Coordinate driver and rail crew schedules; manage sign-offs.
• Review transportation docs and daily logs for accuracy.
• Monitor operations and costs; report to management.
• Assist in resolving material or equipment issues affecting delivery.

Job description

CSI Sands (N.E.) provides a full range of aggregate and resource materials production services. We are equipped to handle every phase of the materials engineering process, from initial exploration to delivery of the end-product.

We are currently searching for a Materials Dispatch Coordinator(Night Shift) to complement our team at our site in Buffalo, NY.This position will report to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Take sand samples at various locations in the plant facility.
• Complete sieve analysis of all plant operational sand samples.
• Ensure sample containers are properly labeled and ready for sampling of all boat loads.
• Complete analysis of all boat load shipments.
• Complete all calibration testing on required lab equipment.
• Report to Facility Manager and Shift Supervisors all Quality Control Issues.
• Serve as the first point of contact for operational issues involving drivers and railyard personnel, escalating matters to management as required.
• Coordinate work schedules for drivers and rail crews, communicate assignments, and obtain required signoffs.
• Review and verify transportation documentation, including daily logs, inspection reports, delivery receipts, and shipping paperwork.
• Monitor job progress, operational performance, and transportation costs, providing regular reports to Management.
• Assist in resolving product, material, and equipment issues that impact fulfillment or delivery.
• Identify operational challenges and recommend process improvements to increase productivity, safety, and service quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Provide on-the-job training to new employees for working in the lab.
• Complete testing on various samples from new raw material sources as needed.
• Complete other tasks as assigned to maintain plant safety and maintenance control.

Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret schematics of the plant process.
• Communicating effectively with co-workers, subordinates, and superiors.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skill required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to complete Quality Control sampling required in all plant areas.
• Basic mechanic skills needed to open and close all sampling points.
• Manual dexterity required for operating lab equipment and computers.

License Requirements

• The position requires the possession and maintenance of a valid New York driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Must possess mobility to work in an operating industrial minerals plant / plant trailer.
• Must be able to use standard office equipment including a computer and calculator.
• Must be able to read materials in print and on a computer screen.
• Must be able to communicate in person, over the telephone and radio.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
