Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Michigan is seeking a Material Handling Supervisor to oversee portions of the operation, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and continuous improvement. You will supervise GSR 6 supervisors, ensure proper application of Ford-UAW contracts, and manage records and training.

The role requires rotating hours from 6:00 AM to 1:30 AM (possible weekends), overtime, and the ability to perform under pressure to meet shipping deadlines.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with SAP/EWM systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of VAS or similar packaging systems is a plus.
• Ability to interpret data, evaluate actions, and draw logical conclusions.
• Continuous improvement mindset and accountability.
• Willingness to work outside traditional hours and rotate shifts.

Responsibilities

• Cover crews in supervisor's absence.
• Attend, facilitate, and document crew meetings; prepare records.
• Schedule workforce, including overtime and vacation.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives toward best-in-class performance.
• Coordinate with consumable suppliers based on releases.
• Supervise, schedule overtime and vacations, cover absent supervisors, maintain records; resolve grievances.
