Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent purchasing/operations experience.
• Strong MS Excel skills and basic math.
• Cross-category purchasing experience.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and inventory planning.
• Experience with SAP, IFS or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Place Purchase Orders to ensure inventory availability for production
• Revise purchase orders to reflect proper vendor delivery dates in ERP
• Maintain contact with suppliers to meet delivery and quality standards
• Expedite critical purchase items through regular supplier communications
• Collaborate with Instron Engineering to resolve supplier technical issues
• Handle vendor adjustments for nonconforming materials, surpluses, or cancellations
• Inform stakeholders of delivery deviations affecting inventory
• Publish metrics on vendor on-time performance with root-cause actions
• Travel up to 10% of the time
