Job summary

BorgWarner is hiring a Materials Associate for Warehouse, 1st shift. The role involves loading/unloading materials, moving items to production lines and storage areas, and issuing materials using SAP transactions.

The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma or GED, 3 months of forklift experience, and forklift certification. SAP/ERP experience and lean industrial environment exposure are preferred, with safety and accuracy a priority.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3 months of Powered Industrial Truck experience required.
• Active Forklift Certification License preferred.
• Knowledge of SAP/ERP systems preferred.
• Experience in fast paced industrial lean environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Loads product, unloads product, receives product, ships product, moves materials at elevated heights, and issues material using system transactions.
• Safely operates all equipment certified (sit-down forklifts, stand up lifts, tuggers, electric jacks).
• Reads work instructions and follows procedures to meet material flow requirements.
• Manually loads/unloads materials onto/from pallets, trays, racks, shelves and carries out duties on foot or by hand.
• Enter materials transactional data into SAP and other systems accurately and timely.

Materials Associate - Warehouse 1st Shift

The PC&L Associate is responsible for loading and unloading materials to and from production lines, storage areas, and trailers. The operator is responsible for following the job responsibilities within the plant and/or warehouse while operating in a fast-paced environment:

• Loads product, unloads product, receives product, ship’s product, moves materials at elevated heights, and issues material using system transactions.

Standard Duties:

• PC&L Associate will be expected to safely perform all tasks assigned by Leadership including all positions within the Physical Logistics department.
• Safely operates all equipment to which the individual is certified (ex):
  • Sit-down Forklifts
  • Stand Up Lifts (Both Reach and Pacer)
  • Tuggers
  • Electric Jacks
• Reads and understands work instructions and/or follows oral instructions to execute the material flow requirements.
• Manually loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, baskets, and shelves on foot and by hand as required (see physical requirements).
• Accurately and timely enters materials transactional information into SAP and other systems as required.
• Reads electronic and manual bill of materials, pull sheets, pick sheets to retrieve and deliver necessary materials for operations.
• Support 5S / Housekeeping activities as required.
• Use appropriate deviation areas, hold tags, to process defective parts through nonconforming material procedure.
• Loads/Unloads materials into trailers adhering to Dock Safety Protocol.
• Meet physical logistics KPI’s, Associate Engagement and Teamwork
• Adherence to FIFO standards throughout all storage areas and material flow points.
• Wear all required PPE and follow box cutting safety protocols.

Safety, Health and Physical Requirements:

• Stand for long periods of time including during operation of stand -up lifts.
• Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs repetitively.
• Stepping up and down off lift; walking long distances over extended periods.
• Ability to work in a fast -paced environment.
• Working in a non-climate -controlled environment.Repetitive motion activities including but not limited to box cutting, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts.

Education & Experience

Education:

High School diploma or GED required

Experience:

3 months of Powered Industrial Truck experience required Active Forklift Certification License preferred

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP Inventory software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
