Job summary

Sonova is seeking a Materials Associate I in Aurora, IL to support manufacturing and distribution of hearing aids and related products. You will perform materials/logistics tasks including packing, picking, and light assembly, with opportunities to contribute to quality improvements.

  • Participate in quality improvement and process changes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe workstation and assist with flexible role assignments.

The Materials Associate I will perform materials / logistics related functions in order to support the manufacturing and distribution of Hearing Aids, FM Systems and Accessories.


Responsibilities:


  • May perform any or all of the following functions
    • Order fulfillment (Packing, Picking)
    • Value Added Assembly (RIC, Battery Label, BTE Recasing)
    • Invoicing
    • Driver

  • Visual inspects product, identifies defects/rejects and escalates as required

  • Active participation in quality improvement processes

  • Initiates process improvements and motivates peers to achieve team goals

  • Meets established individual and team goals

  • Maintains workstation in a clean, safe and orderly manner

  • Flex to various positions as business needs require


More about you:


  • 1-3 years of experience in inventory management, logistics and/or receiving

  • HS diploma, GED or equivalent

  • Strong Knowledge of inventory management concepts

  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English

  • Willingness to work in a team environment

  • Open to flex/change job assignments

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent manual dexterity, use small hand tools and light bench equipment

  • Able to read small font, follow and understand work instructions

  • Ability to use both hands to perform tasks such as moving material, product, and equipment

  • Demonstrated understanding and handling of material in accordance with established safety procedures

  • Able to use a computer, train others and use problem solving techniques

  • Ability to count, verify and audit inventory locations

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Stand for 8 hours a day

  • Walk for 8 hours a day

  • Lift weight of up to 50 lbs.

  • Repetitive motions using both hands


A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova

This role's pay range is $18.25 an hour
