Job summary

TravisMathew is seeking a Materials Assistant to facilitate fabric and trim development, partnering with cross-functional teams to support seasonal materials that meet aesthetic requirements and align with sourcing strategy and cost targets.

You will prepare fabric packages for mills, conduct lab dips, manage development files, maintain Centric PLM data, and track samples with vendors, with a minimum of one year in accessories and apparel product development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or technical trade school or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in accessories and apparel product development.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare fabric packages and send to mills/vendors for sourcing.
  • Prepare packages for lab dips and strike-offs for material development.
  • Perform development fabric and garment testing and data tracking.
  • Manage all development files, seasonal recaps, and process statuses.
  • Manage all fabric submissions, developments, and approvals.
  • Maintain fabric & trim data entry in Centric PLM.
  • Maintain fabric and trim reference libraries for existing and future garments.
  • Maintain lap dips and strike offs files.
  • Wash & measure samples as needed.
  • Track samples with vendors.
  • Receive and distribute packages within the materials department/team.
  • Assist with data entry projects, as needed.

The Materials Assistant, is responsible for facilitating all fabric and trim development. This individual will partner with the cross-functional teams to support the execution of seasonal fabric and trim developments that meet all aesthetic requirements and align with sourcing strategy and cost targets.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare fabric packages and send them to potential mills/vendors for sourcing
  • Prepare packages for lab dips and strike-offs for material development
  • Perform all development fabric and garment testing and corresponding data tracking
  • Manage all development files, seasonal recaps, and processes statuses
  • Manage all fabric submissions, developments, and approvals
  • Maintain fabric & trim data entry in Centric PLM
  • Maintain fabric and trim reference libraries for existing and future garments
  • Maintain lap dips and strike offs files
  • Wash & Measure samples as needed
  • Track samples with vendors
  • Receive and distribute packages within the materials department/team

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of fabric construction
  • Knowledge of garment fit and pattern alterations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to measure garments
  • Ability to prioritize workflow based on deadlines
  • Ability to problem-solve and communicate all issues to cross-functional departments
  • Ability to travel internationally
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree or technical trade school and equivalent

Minimum 1-year experience in accessories and apparel product development

17.21 - 21.49 - 25.77 USD Hourly
