Job summary

Modular Mission Critical, MMC's manufacturing campus for M.C. Dean, is seeking a Materials Supervisor to oversee the Market Place, MMC Warehouse, Receiving, and related material flow.

You will lead a defined team, ensure accurate inventory transactions, and align activities to production priorities. Collaborate across departments to resolve issues, support ECNs, new SKUs, and launches, and drive continuous improvement in inventory control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of front‑line supervisory experience in a high‑volume manufacturing, warehouse, materials management, or supply chain environment.
  • Experience supervising material handling, warehouse, receiving, dock, inventory control, or production support employees.
  • Detailed understanding of MRP/ERP or inventory control systems, inventory transactions, cycle counts, physical inventory, bin reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Working knowledge of receiving, storage, internal distribution, line‑side presentation, FIFO, stock rotation, Kanban, Min/Max, material staging, and visual inventory systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, with the ability to create or analyze reports, dashboards, KPIs, shortages, variances, and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise 10–15 direct reports across Market Place, MMC Warehouse, Receiving, docks, and assigned storage/staging areas.
  • Train and monitor materials personnel to ensure inventory transactions, material deliveries, receiving, staging, storage, and system updates are completed correctly and on time.
  • Manage material flow across production, procurement, external distributors, suppliers, facility transfers, docks, and 30K staging to support timely material availability.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by supervising cycle counts, physical inventory, audits, bin and transaction reconciliations, and corrective actions for variances, shortages, excess/negative inventory, and container discrepancies.
  • Create and use reports, dashboards, and analysis to monitor material KPIs, marketplace shortages, inventory accuracy, usage trends, stock levels, and process compliance.
  • Maintain organized material storage and point‑of‑use presentation through 5S, visual inventory systems, FIFO, stock rotation, labeling, repack activities, Kanban, pull‑loop adjustments, and Min/Max recommendations.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Product Management, Program Management, Procurement, and Scheduling on work cell layout, line‑side presentation, edit reports, new SKUs, ECNs, new model launches, and build‑out projects.
  • Support Kaizen events, process creation or updates, practical best practices, and continuous improvement efforts that improve inventory accuracy, material flow, space utilization, productivity, and quality.

Responsibilities

The Materials Supervisor oversees assigned materials management functions for the Market Place, MMC Warehouse, Receiving, docks, storage/staging areas, and line‑side material flow. This role supervises a defined team of materials personnel and ensures material handling, inventory transactions, storage, cycle counts, physical inventory, and distribution activities are accurate, timely, and aligned to production priorities.

The position executes priorities set by the Materials Manager, monitors functional KPIs and metrics, enforces process compliance, and supports accurate inventory control systems. The Materials Supervisor collaborates with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Product Management, Program Management, Procurement, and Scheduling to resolve material issues, support ECNs and launches, and improve material flow within defined M1 leadership scope.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field.

  • Experience supervising material handling, warehouse, receiving, dock, inventory control, or production support employees.

  • Ability to multitask, delegate, meet time‑sensitive deadlines, communicate accurately, and work effectively in a rapidly changing manufacturing environment.

Preferred

  • Lean Six Sigma experience or certification.
  • Experience in build‑to‑order, just‑in‑time, OEM, or high‑volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting Kaizen events, 5S, visual management, ECNs, new SKU introductions, new model launches, or build‑out activities.
