Material Specialist is responsible for accurately receiving and storing material in the proper locations, distributing and issuing material to the job on the production floor in a timely manner. This role ensures that inventory is maintained to ensure accurate counts to keep operations running efficiently.

Responsibilities

Receive, unload, and examine incoming materials to ensure they meet specified requirements, verifying their accuracy against purchase orders and shipping documents, and reporting any discrepancies.
Store materials in their designated areas using suitable material-handling equipment (such as forklifts and pallet jacks), and update storage locations as needed.
Retrieve materials for various jobs and distribute items promptly and accurately.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory records within the ERP system.
Safely move materials throughout the warehouse to the production line.
Adhere to safety procedures, including appropriate lifting methods and equipment operation protocols.
Participate in monthly cycle counts and contribute to the annual physical inventory process.
Ensure that the warehouse and workspaces are kept clean, organized, and compliant with company and safety standards.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems and Microsoft Suite.
