Job summary

C-C-Cube International in Delft, Netherlands is offering a Material Science Internship to gain hands-on experience in materials R&D. You will perform EIS experiments on steel-concrete samples, test corrosion rates with our sensors, and simulate environmental conditions to study degradation.

You will work with a cross-functional team, analyze data, and contribute to translating research findings into practical tools for offshore wind, infrastructure, and other industries.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field (HBO/BSc/MSc).
  • Strong interest in corrosion science, concrete materials, and electrochemical testing methods.
  • Experience with material characterization techniques (e.g., microscopy, spectroscopy, mechanical testing) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory experiments using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) on steel-concrete samples.
  • Perform corrosion rate testing using C-Cube’s sensors to assess material degradation under various conditions.
  • Simulate underground environmental conditions to accelerate corrosion processes.
  • Analyze experimental data to support R&D and product development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into actionable insights.

About the R&D Team

Our R&D team develops the core technology behind C-Cube’s coating and corrosion measurement solutions. The team combines expertise in electrochemistry, mechanical engineering, software development, and product design. They work on improving our sensors, developing new test methods, and translating research into practical tools used in offshore wind, infrastructure, and other industries.

What You'll Do

Who You Are
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering program or a related field (HBO/BSc/MSc).
  • Strong interest in corrosion science, concrete materials, and electrochemical testing methods.
  • You have some basic experience with material characterization techniques (e.g., microscopy, spectroscopy, and mechanical testing).
  • Interest in data analysis; knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus!)
