Job summary

Sechan Electronics, Inc. is seeking a Materials Planner to support Senior Demand Planners with projects ensuring material availability for timely delivery. Responsibilities include analyzing project data, maintaining shortage lists, and communicating with suppliers.

Job description

The Materials Planner will be supporting the Senior Demand Planners with projects to ensure materials are available as needed to meet contractual deliveries and expedite work through the shop floor.

Position Responsibilities
  • Analyze project and standard MRP data to generate accurate purchase requisitions utilizing ERP software and exceptions reporting.
  • Develops and maintain list of urgently needed purchase part shortages from attrition on the shop floor, working with the suppliers and purchasing team to resolve issues quickly and expedite materials through receiving, inspection and to the shop orders when they arrive.
  • Regular review and communication to the project team of all project shortages to support on time delivery throughout the life of the program.
  • Regular inventory analysis within projects to ensure project inventory is used before expiration, conforms to the revision required for the program, and non-conforming materials are addressed promptly and potentially reworked to usable material or scrapped.
  • Coordinate planning actions for engineering changes including purchase order, inventory and shop order maintenance.
  • Forecast material shortages based on a dynamic build schedule and purchasing lead time fluctuations to minimize and prevent production downtime.
  • Track and communicate daily the production and movement of critical assembly shortages.
  • Perform physical administrative support tasks involved in shop order maintenance such as red-lining changes, resolving shop floor transaction and supporting move ticket exceptions.
  • Manages tinning process including outside operations tinning and internal tinning of gold-lead components.
  • Reserves upcoming shop orders and prepares them for stockroom kitting.
  • Lead meetings for planning and operation team related to the scheduling of constrained work centers and scheduling of work in those areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of this organization.

Work Environment
  • Office Environment: Requires physical capability to work in an office environment including sit/stand up to 9 hours a day and use basic office tools such as a computer, copier/printer, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday - Thursday; Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM with additional hours as needed to meet demand. Occasional off-shift hours may also be required to provide support to operations.
  • 9/80 work schedule.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Office located in Lititz, PA, with occasional visited to Lancaster facility.
