Job summary

Trane Technologies in La Crosse, WI, is seeking a Materials Planner to manage raw material purchases and ensure timely delivery to support assembly operations.

You will collaborate with procurement, logistics, scheduling, engineering, and quality teams to optimize inventory levels and drive lean improvements across the supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, logistics, or purchasing.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, quality control, production planning, warehousing, or inventory control.
  • Experience with major ERP platforms / manufacturing databases.
  • Great written and verbal communication with suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Plan purchased raw material and components by category and supplier to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Active partnership with procurement, supplier representatives, logistics, scheduling, engineering, quality, finance and assembly operations.
  • Fulfill orders by expediting, deferring, or canceling delivery of goods, and oversees supplier compliance.
  • Resolve issues related to purchases, pricing discrepancies, and receipt-to-invoice reconciliation.
  • Support inventory management, data accuracy and operational effectiveness.
  • Engage in product life-cycle initiatives and supplier sourcing changes.
  • Participate in lean problem-solving projects and events to create sustainable standard work.

What's In It For You

As a Material Planner with Trane Technologies in La Crosse, WI; we will call on you to collaborate with other manufacturing teams to solve problems, and to improve processes and key metrics. Your crucial responsibility will be to manage raw material and component purchases and to ensure their timely delivery to the plant in support of assembly operations.

What You Will Do
  • Plan purchased raw material and components by category and supplier to maintain optimal inventory levels to support production requirements and inventory turn goals.
  • Active partnership with procurement, supplier representatives, logistics, scheduling, engineering, quality, finance and assembly operations.
  • Fulfill orders by expediting, deferring, or canceling delivery of goods, and oversees supplier compliance. Resolve problems related to purchases, pricing discrepancies, and receipt-to-invoice reconciliation.

What You Will Bring
  • Previous experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, logistics, or purchasing.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, quality control, production planning, warehousing, or inventory control.
  • Experience with major ERP platforms / manufacturing databases.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills – you’ll be sending lots of emails to suppliers!
