Reliable material flow is the backbone of our production schedule, and we're looking for a detail-oriented planner to keep our lines stocked and our suppliers aligned. The Material Planner will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the flow of raw materials and components to support production schedules, while minimizing excess inventory and controlling costs.
Develop and maintain material requirement plans (MRP) based on production schedules and forecasts
Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and components; place and track purchase orders to prevent shortages or overstock
Coordinate with suppliers to confirm delivery schedules, resolve delays, and manage lead times
Partner with production leads to align material availability with the production schedule and communicate any material-related risks
Analyze inventory data to identify trends, reduce excess/obsolete stock, and improve inventory turns
Maintain accurate data in the ERP system (Netsuite) including part numbers, lead times, safety stock levels, BOMs
Support new product launches and engineering changes by ensuring timely material availability
Track key performance metrics such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and stockout rates
Participate in supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives with Purchasing
Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory as needed, while investigating causes of discrepancies
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
2+ years of experience in material planning, production planning, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment
Experience in automotive parts or automotive-adjacent manufacturing is a plus
Proficiency with ERP systems (Netsuite) and advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills for coordinating across production, purchasing, and suppliers
APICS/CPIM certification a plus, but not required
