GLORY in Carrollton, TX is seeking a dedicated Material Planner to oversee warehouse stock and technician inventory, balancing costs with supplier lead times and meeting customer requirements.

The role requires reviewing shipment plans, maintaining perpetual inventory accuracy, and coordinating with field teams, partners, and customers to ensure timely deliveries and efficient distribution.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher; 3 years related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.
• Strong attention to inventory accuracy.
• Experience with inventory systems and stock control.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming parts and supply orders and schedule shipments to satisfy customer requirements.
• Verify inventory reports against physical counts and correct variances.
• Release orders, define safety stock, and manage rework; handle emergency sourcing with vendors.
• Confer with managers to assess progress and discuss changes.
• Follow up on Defective Material Reports through to closure.
• Manage partner forecasts for Glory affiliates, domestic and international.
• Liaise with purchasing to maintain order promise dates and expedite shipments.
• Promote good housekeeping and safety practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Material Planner

Department: Supply Chain

Compensation: $17.35 - $21.65 / hour

Description

Responsible for maintaining stock in the warehouse and technician’s inventory, operating within cost restraints and supplier’s lead time. Handles incoming parts and supplies orders from field, partners, and customers. Supports functions related to inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Process incoming parts and supply orders for field, partners, and customers. Review, schedule, and revise shipment plans to ensure efficient distribution of products to satisfy customer requirements.
• Verify system perpetual inventory reports against physical count of inventory, research issues, and correct variances.
• Issue orders to meet customer requirements, define safety stock levels, internal sub-component build and any rework requirements. Release management for field, partner, and customer orders. Emergency sourcing with established vendors.
• Confer with department managers or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
• Follow up on Defective Material Reports (bad out of box or early life failures) through to closure.
• Manage partner forecast for Glory affiliates, domestic and international.
• Liaison regularly with the purchasing department to maintain order promise dates, investigate shipment issues with various shipping vendors (inbound & outbound) to expedite flow of materials and meet customer expectations.
• Establish and promote good housekeeping and safety practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Required Education and Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred or a minimum of three years related experience and/or training

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong sense of urgency to fulfill part requirements in a field service organization.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
• Preferred inventory control experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating / maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to interact effectively, primarily on the phone, to stakeholders including field technicians, managers, customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
