Opportunity for an early-career Materials Launch Coordinator to order, track, and manage all pre-production materials required to successfully execute all related build events. These events will include run-offs at tool shops and equipment vendors, parts for internal and customer testing, and the initial builds at the production facility which are not scheduled as part of the normal materials ordering systems (MRP). The pre-production run-offs and build events may include expediting materials between facilities which are producing sub-assemblies and full assemblies and tracking international shipments to support global programs. In addition, Materials Launch Coordinators play a vital role in effectively executing the Change Management process.

  • Order, track, and manage deliveries of materials including raw materials to support program timing requirements for each build event including tooling and equipment run-offs.
  • Maintain revision level tracking for each part/material required for each build event.
  • Support Program Managers in maintaining accurate parts matrix.
  • Execute the Red Flag escalation process for any materials/issues which will cause the program team to be late for a build event or run-off.
  • Work with other SDT members to ensure that timing for supplier gages, fixtures, and tools are aligned with the required timing per the build events matrix.
  • Support the Program Manager(s) in developing tactical plans for implementation timing for changes.
  • Part delivery tracking and inventory management for pre-production builds.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing / Packaging team to determine if parts will be quoted in Returnable or Expendables. If returnable, ensure the team is hitting targets to have them in the loop on time.
  • Supplier follow-up as needed to maintain program timing.
  • Providing support and assistance with Change Management tracking and implementation.
  • Pre-production build event, run-off, and test part order quantity calculations.
  • Creating requisitions and issuing POs to the supply base in support of program timing.
  • Prepare Materials Management System (MFG-Pro).
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to determine approved supplier lead times and INCO terms.
  • Maintain PO tracking by event and work with Commercial team to ensure costs are captured.
