Job summary

M&N Structures, Inc. seeks a Material Handling Specialist in Connecticut to move materials between stations, unload inbound shipments, and prepare loads for delivery, supporting production flow.

The role involves both indoor and outdoor work and requires multitasking with a proactive team mindset. Operators will move raw materials, finish goods, and in-process items, using barcodes and a forklift while maintaining safety and coordinating with logistics and production managers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Vocational/Technical degree preferred.
• 1–3 years experience in related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Unloading of various material types and reviewing materials for accurate receipt.
• Sorting and staging raw material in yard and inventory rack system.
• Identification of materials using manual and digital systems, including barcoding.
• Move raw materials into facility and move in-process elements between stations.
• Move finished materials out for delivery and stage for transport.
• Use barcoding to identify locations and material movement.
• Coordinate with others to optimize storage space and material placement.
• Operate forklift to move pallets and large loads; maintain safe operating conditions.
• Coordinate with Logistics and Production managers to ensure material flow for work in progress.
• Communicate with inbound/outbound carriers to ensure safe loading and unloading.

About the role

We are looking to hire a Material Handling Specialist to join our team! We work on projects of all different shapes and sizes, across several different industries from healthcare to restaurants to big box distribution. The work each day is a mix of Transporting material between stations, unloading truckloads of raw material, or packaging & preparing loads for delivery, you will be a part of supporting the movement of material throughout the production process. This role will require you to spend time working both inside & outside, you will be in motion for the entire day. You will need the ability to balance multiple tasks, find creative solutions to changing & challenging demands. Being a team player will bring you success & growth in our company.

Responsibilities:

• Unloading of various material types and reviewing materials to ensure accurate receipt
• Sorting and staging raw material in the yard and inventory rack system
• Identification of materials using both manual and digital systems, including fabrication management software and barcoding
• Movement of raw materials into the facility, movement of in-process elements from station to station, and movement of finished materials out of the building to stage for delivery
• Use barcoding system to identify material locations and movement of both raw material and finished products
• Collaborate with others about the efficient use of storage space and effective means for material placement
• Operate a forklift to handle loads of all shapes and sizes, from pallets of material to stock in excess of sixty feet in length.
• Maintain forklifts to ensure that safe operating conditions exist, and coordinate with service personnel for necessary maintenance and repair
• Coordinate with Logistics Manager and Production Manager to ensure flow of material supports work in progress
• Communicate with inbound and outbound carriers to ensure that loads are safe for transportation and effective off loading
• Other production related duties as directed by the Production Manager

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age
