Job summary

Jtekt Na in Piedmont, SC is seeking a Material Handling/Production Control associate for 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM) to support production control activities and ensure efficient material flow.

Responsibilities include verifying labels, supporting shipping/receiving, inspecting shipments, loading/unloading trucks, and maintaining compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO standards through safe, team-based work.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift, walkie stacker and tugger experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical duties.
  • Strong English communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

  • Verify container labels and match descriptions on packing slips.
  • Support Mazda J34a project as water spider when needed.
  • Assist shipping and receiving processes and inspect shipments.
  • Load and unload trucks; maintain smooth material flow across manufacturing.
  • Follow standard work and company policies; work overtime as required.

Material Handling/Production Control (2nd shift, 3:00 PM -11:30 PM)

Summary/Purpose

Support production control activities related to successful manufacturing operations, while following policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Accountability
  • Responsible for verifying labels on containers and matching the description on packing slips
  • Support new Mazda J34a, possibly as a water spider
  • Support shipping and receiving systems
  • Inspect shipments, Load and unload trucks
  • Maintain the flow of materials to all areas of manufacturing efficiently while working in a team environment
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Supervisory Responsibilities

None

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Forklift, walkie stacker and tugger experience is preferred
  • Able to frequently lift
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving systems
  • Prior material handling experience and knowledge
  • Flexible working hours, ability to work overtime (which may include weekends and holidays) as needed per business need
  • Proficient English communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and follow standard work, work within a team and support company policies, including but not limited to regular and punctual attendance, safety and ergonomics
  • Ability to learn, operate and maintain various equipment at an acceptable level with emphasis on quality (IATF 16949 standard), safety and environment (ISO 14001 and 45001), 5S and productivity
Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
