Job summary

ProcessBarron in Pelham, AL is seeking two Material Handling Designers/Drafters to join our Engineering Team. You will design custom industrial equipment used by power plants, pulp and paper mills, and other heavy industries across North America, working with AutoCAD, 3D modeling, laser scanning, and drone tech.

You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to bring projects from concept to completion, with limited travel and opportunities to see designs built in

Qualifications

• 5+ years of drafting or design experience.
• Strong AutoCAD skills.
• Experience with fabrication and manufacturing drawings.
• Understanding of welding, machining, and fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor or similar) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail material handling equipment including conveyors, feeders, chutes, hoppers, silos, and bins.
• Create fabrication drawings, plant layouts, and BOMs.
• Support manufacturing, installation, and project execution activities.
• Participate in field measurements and equipment inspections as needed.
• Work directly with Engineering, Project Management, and Fabrication teams.

Are you an experienced designer who enjoys turning concepts into real-world industrial solutions? ProcessBarron is looking for two Material Handling Designers/Drafters to join our Engineering Team in Pelham, Alabama. In this role, you'll design custom industrial equipment used by power plants, pulp and paper mills, wood products facilities, and other heavy industries across North America. This is more than a drafting position. You'll work with advanced technologies including AutoCAD, 3D modeling software, laser scanning equipment, and drones, while collaborating with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to bring projects from concept to completion.

What You'll Do

Design and detail material handling equipment including conveyors, feeders, chutes, hoppers, silos, and bins. Design and detail high-performance material handling equipment for paper, energy, and industrial processing facilities. We design and build custom equipment for Ash and fuel handling systems, Drag Conveyors, Screw conveyors, Rotary Airlock Feeders, Reclaimers, and other mechanical equipment used for conveying materials.

You will gain valuable experience seeing your designs being built in our fabrication shops.

Create fabrication drawings, plant layouts, and equipment arrangements. Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation. Support manufacturing, installation, and project execution activities. Participate in field measurements and equipment inspections as needed. Work directly with Engineering, Project Management, and Fabrication teams.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of drafting or design experience Strong AutoCAD skills Experience with fabrication and manufacturing drawings Understanding of welding, machining, and fabrication processes Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Bonus Points For Autodesk Inventor or other 3D CAD experience Structural detailing experience Industrial equipment or material handling design experience Plate work and fabrication detailing experience.
