Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler for a weekend shift (Friday-Monday, 9:00pm - 7:30am) in our Omaha facility. You will support operations by moving material and inventory, operating material handling equipment, and ensuring accurate packing, labeling and counting of products.

The role requires basic math, reading safety instructions, and at least 1 year of warehouse experience. A positive team mindset and willingness to work overtime when needed are essential.

Qualifications

• Basic math ability required, with or without calculator.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Move material and inventory throughout the facility to support operations.
• Use hand trucks, conveyors or other material handling equipment.
• Pack, scan, kit or count products as needed.
• Verify orders and label products with a handheld scanner.
• Adhere to the 7S program and maintain a clean environment.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Support operations by moving material and inventory throughout the facility
• Use hand trucks, conveyors or other material handling equipment
• Perform duties that may include packing, scanning, kitting or counting products
• Verify orders, label products and use a handheld scanner
• Adhere to the 7S program
• Maintain a clean environment at all times
• Work in a safe manner that protects you and your team members

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• To be at least 18 years of age
• The ability to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedural documents

It’d be great if you also have:

• 1 year of experience in a warehouse environment
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including possible overtime when needed
• Experience using a handheld scanner
• Positive attitude and the ability to work in a team to achieve goals and objectives

This job requires the ability to:

• Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, sit or walk for prolonged periods of time
• Bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull
• Handle or manage tools or equipment
• Tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
