Job summary

A. O. Smith Corporation in Franklin, TN is seeking a Material Handler to join our onsite manufacturing team. You will perform warehouse duties, receive product, and support parts and shipments, using RF scanners and SAP.

The role requires lifting up to 75 pounds, forklift operation, and a commitment to safety and accuracy. First shift 6:00am–2:30pm, Monday–Friday, with overtime as needed. Applicants should have at least 1 year of material handling experience and good attendance.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a Material Handler in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficient with SAP and basic computer skills.
• Ability to operate forklift and picker safely.
• Strong organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform Material Handler functions as needed per work instructions, including forklift operation and use of Warehouse scanners.
• Learn all warehouse duties: receiving, stocking, pulling finished goods, and supporting service parts and shipments.
• Perform system transactions accurately and consistently.
• Be flexible to work in different areas and tasks.
• Safely operate a picker and forklift.
• Stand and walk for the entire shift and lift up to 75 pounds.
• Follow safety, quality, and procedure requirements per work instructions.
• Use RF scanners for transactions and training in order picking.

Primary Function

Candidate will be responsible for completing training and performing the following job functions:

Responsibilities

• Will perform Material Handler functions as needed in accordance with required work instructions, such as forklift license and use of Warehouse scanners.
• Will be required to learn all duties in the Warehouse including receiving product from the trailers, covering the floor by filling issues and pulling finished goods, supporting Service Parts and pulling shipments.
• Must be able to perform system transactions.
• Must make accurate and precise transactions.
• Must be flexible and willing to work in different areas and on different tasks
• Must be able to safely operate a picker and a forklift
• Must be able to stand and walk for entire shift, without the need to sit down
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Comply with all the safety, quality, and procedure requirements as noted in the applicable Work Instructions.
• Will use RF scanner for transactions.
• Will train in picking orders in Warehouse for Made To Order, stock and production, with accuracy being a priority.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a Material Handler in a Manufacturing setting.
• Employee must have good job performance and attendance.
• Basic computer knowledge, including SAP.
• Must be a self-starter, well organized, able to work both independently and as a team member, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting/standing and frequent bending and reaching.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and with assistance
