Job Summary:

Responsible for all material handling needs, primarily picking warehoused parts, and delivering to assembly areas to ensure efficient production. Work closely with production lines to ensure full utilization of people, materials, and equipment to meet customer demand. Required to achieve company standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities:

Material Handler I

  • Follow established procedures, processes, or policies.

Material Handler II

  • Material Handler I responsibilities.

  • Use judgment in resolving issues or recommending solutions.

  • May participate in project teams or lead portions of projects.

  • Has a thorough knowledge of the basic principles, practices and processes in the applicable discipline and has a working knowledge of related fields.

  • Provides resolutions from basic to moderately complex problems. Exercises judgment within procedures and practices in selecting methods and techniques for arriving at solutions.

  • Contacts are typically with the supervisor and other members of the team or immediate organization but may be outside of this to complete the assignment. May represent the team on projects and interface with business partners. Impacts of errors normally have implications requiring additional resources.

  • Contributes to improving processes, lead times, through-put, and cost.

Material Handler III

  • Material Handler I & II responsibilities

  • Ability to cross-train in different areas of need.

  • Flex across different products and areas to support business needs.

  • Provide training to new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work.

  • Proficiently access information and perform transactions as needed within ERP system.

  • Uses initiative and judgment to lead problem solving and implementing appropriate countermeasures.

  • Suggest and implement improvements to existing equipment and/or designs to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

Requirements :

Material Handler I

  • Ability to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment.

  • Ability to identify and resolve basic problems.

  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment.

  • Models positive and professional work ethics.

  • Effective communication skills.

Material Handler II

  • Material Handler I requirements

  • Must be effectively cross trained in multiple operations.

  • Ability to use advanced troubleshooting within the materials environment.

  • Ability to train other employees in established processes.

  • Problem solving skills and interfacing with other departments.

  • Strong communication skills.

Material Handler III

  • Material Handler I & II requirements.

  • 2 years of material handling/forklift operation experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment and forklift certified.
